Dandelions

This is my first finished watercolour painting for my botanical illustration class, and I guess I'm kinda happy with it. One of the ladies in the class offered to buy it, and our teacher made everyone come and look at it so I guess that's a good sign. You can't tell from this scan but the flowers are life-size (the whole painting is about 3 inches high) , meaning I did the whole thing with tiny brushes that had about 5 hairs in them. One day I'll do a proper dandelion with leaves and roots for my good pal Jerome, who loves herbs and never lets me pay for my massages.

This is beautiful! I'm still jealous of this class...

thanks lady! you should totally enrol in a class, it's teaching me all sorts of good things! I'm looking forward to applying some of what I'm learning to non-botanical paintings as well.
